Severence or Pay Off?

Wayne said that he didn't know whether or not Debra Hinsvark resigned or not; he was just taking it from Dave Helling's piece in the Star. (Dave Helling/Lynn Horsely are running personnel now?) According to sources, Ms. Hinsvark been calling in sick. If she has indeed resigned in writing to City staff then why do we want to give a 'severence package" (which could total up to $50,000.00) to someone who has resigned? (Remember, we're looking at a $15,000,000.00 budget shortfall.) Why isn't someone from the City speaking directly to Ms. Hinsvark? Why is the Star in the middle of this personnel issue?

It won't be severance -- it will be hush money. Hinsvark knows too much.

Seems like we pay a lot of hush money at City Hall. Come on Council, don't pay it, let's here what she has to say! After all, the City Manager is waiting for a contract...let's see what she's got on him!

You can believe that Cauthen does NOT want Hinsvark talking to anybody - when the Citadel deal goes south, as the blog and respondents have well described why it should, there was one woman in the room that may not work at City Hall anymore, but can look in the mirror at night.

Do remember that Hinsvark came from Denver so there must be some ethical people from there.

I don't think it's a matter of how ethical Hinsvark is, I think she has been very loyal (to many a fault)to what wayne wants. I think she just found out that he wasn't loyal to her in return, he was loyal to LT. Remember Housing Administrator Stacia Johnson. She was loyal to a fault to him and when the chips started to fall he threw her under the bus pretty darn fast.
