We need to find that direct link to Jefferson City to go right to the govenor to order the State Audit on Kansas City. There are so many areas in which need to be audited! From construction accounts in CIMO, 1 Percent Art Program, the MBE/WBE program, WC himself, Phillip Yelder, Ollie Johnson, Councilman Riley, just to name a few. There needs to be an audit on the MBE/WBE program on how it is handle the goals that are set forth for participation. There are two BIG BULLYS on the 4th floor Phil Yelder and Ollie Johnson! You talk about racist! And when did those two men have the added job description of negotiation with minority contractors? Why does Phil Yelder get to ask a contractor "How much will it cost the "City" to keep you in business? The "City" does not want you to fail! Now if that is not opening the check-book, then I don't know what is. Aren't all contractor suppose to be able to perform the job that is specified without it costing the "City" extra, because WC says make this problem go away!So yes there is racial tension in the City of Kansas City, MO, and it all started when WAyne Cauthen came to town. He has an agenda and one adgenda only! So if you are a white professional then don't apply for a management position with the city, because he won't hire you! Sad to say but everyone in the metropolitan area knows that! Mayor and City Council wake up!!!!!!! What is in the "BEST INTEREST OF THE CITY?" My tax dollars are not being spent wisely!

GPS, obviously, you haven't been around City Hall very long. Wayne didn't bring racial tension to City Hall. It's been there for years. Haven't you heard of the "race card"?? Why do you think there is so much dead weight at City Hall? Remember when Kay tried to privatize the Water Dept? The race card came out in the form of black protesters circling City Hall. Yes, the same black employees filmed napping on the job. There are four black women in my department who do absolutely nothing on a daily basis. They surf the net, shop online, talk on the phone with relatives, and outright refuse to perform their administrative functions. All while collecting $40k annual salaries with benefits. Their supervisors are afraid of the race card, so they do nothing about it. Skunk, if you are really serious about changing things at City Hall, start with the dead weight. That is costing the taxpayers much more than Wayne's little posse. You're really beginning to sound like a bitter employee who didn't get one of those cushy positions and less like someone who really wants to enact change at City Hall.
seems like everyone has quit caring.
It doesn't matter now.
Funkhouser got his wish. No new contract for Cauthen, which probably means Cauthen is gone by next year. The remaining dead weight at City Hall that Cauthen couldn't get rid of has been rewarded by Funkhouser.
10:49 must work for michael shaw
I don't think anyone has quit caring, but it's scary to put yourself out there, you may not just get fired - you might get sued as well. LT continues to terrorize everyone within range of her gnarly touch. She will get what she deserves, I firmly believe that, but she and WC are working overtime to keep the truth from coming out. Try to hang in there, the day will come and we will win!
10:49 - why are you so mad at GPS? Why don't you work on the "dead weight" in water dept? Call Dave Helling, give him names so that he can do a sunshine request of the computers the deadbeats use. Come on!!! The media can sunshine anything, and trust me - during sweeps week they would like nothing more than to out the deadweight at city hall. They can't afford to sunshine every computer, you have to give them names, dates, INFORMATION!!! Don't look to GPS to do something you won't!!!!!!
12:37 - what a joke! Cauthen never got rid of dead weight. He fired the worker bees and brought IN dead weight!
Worker bees? In city hall? Now that's a joke.
Amen... That is right Cauthen did not get rid of the dead weight, he indeed brought the dead weight IN. Being the one who orginally wrote the "Bluntly Speaking - We Need Blunt", yes I have been around City Hall for 23 years. So I have seen a lot in my day. But I have never seen the City so disfunctional, incompetent employees in my division, low moral and a bunch of dead weight! Unfortunately, I could not take it anymore of having a supervisor that would not speak to me for doing the right thing; and he was getting caught in his lies to the clients. So he decided to take his frustrations out on me by not speaking to me for almost 6 months. Plus he witheld information from me so that I could manage my projects. So after 23 years of service both contract and as a permanent employee, I have resigned to get away from the hostile work environment. Don't get me wrong I loved being a civil servant and I loved my job, but one can only take enough abuse from a supervisor. But what goes around comes around for both my old supervisor and Cauthen. Funkhouser needs to make sure that when they replace old WC that he takes his buddies with him. They are costing the city a lot of money. How about this let's have channel 4 do a sunshine request to see Phil Yelders employment contract. How much of a bonus is he getting for those capital dollars being spent on MBE/WBE contractors? Wouldn't you as tax payers like to know? I sure would!
WC's water carrier John Sharp has put the Council in a difficult position by pushing an ordinance that removes a special $40,000+ City assesment from his church. The other Councilmemebers cannot reasonably scrutinize this becuase they risk offending their counterparts and getting shoved into irrelevance.
Legislation #: 071337 Introduction Date: 11/29/2007
Type: Ordinance Effective Date: none
Sponsor: COUNCILMEMBERS SHARP, CURLS, JOLLY, RILEY AND SANDERS BROOKS
Title: Releasing and abating a certain special tax assessment of the City upon property owned by Canaan Missionary Baptist Church at 4423 Olive Street.

anyone notice how WC hasn't been around much lately?
Wow, so much of this seems to be subjective and open to opinion. On one hand, find me a place where anyone loves their boss. On the other hand, try to imagine a situation where a major US city has hired a City Manager that can't write at a 8th grade level. Try to get your mind around the possibility that rather than race or style being of issue with Wayne Cathen, it might be a matter of simple ability. Anyone can bully; can your current CM even compose a three paragraph letter without relying on an ACM?
contract's up april 30th.
did the GPS win?
if so, who would be a good internal candidate?
THANKS FUNK!!! IT IS ABOUT TIME!
Now that WC is out the door lets gid rid of his La Toadies and some of the other incomptents that he brought in to make City Hall racially balanced--we need a few less incompetent, illiterate, egotistical people in upper management as well as their right hand "Executive Assistants". Hey WC walked out 5 Directors/Acting Directors when he came in...all WHITE men and since has put alot of black employees to "racially balance" City Hall and get his BONUSES of $30K to $90K EVERY YEAR since he came to KC. Thanks again Funk and to Terry Riley and his "surprised" reaction... I remember a council meeting where TR almost put himself to sleep droning on and on and on so that the WC issue wouldn't come up but Funk finally shut TR up before he bored the rest of the council to death jabbering about anything and everything except what was being discussed--terminating WC's contract. Goodbye Wayne and hopefully your toadies will be right behind you. City council members SHAME ON YOUR FOR PRETENDING TO BE SHOCKED. Funk finally found the way to get rid of WC! HIP HIP HOORAY!
